If you've been in Athens for awhile, you might remember The Strawberry Patch restaurant that Ed Fisher & family opened in 1978. It was a quaint little restaurant with a cozy environment with homemade soups, salads, crepes and fresh baked bread. They later opened Purple Chopstix, which has remained a family run, owned and operated restaurant for over twenty-five years.
Ed's daughters, Amelia and Maria, moved to Hawaii with the dream to open their own restaurant. In January 2011, this dream became a reality, when they opened The Strawberry Patch Restaurant in historical Honuaino Square. If you ever find yourself in Hawaii, you should stop in and join them for a taste of home! The Strawberry Patch Restaurant is located 20 minutes south of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island.
